On Tuesday, Apple TV+ announced that new comedy-drama Land of Women will get a series order for a total of six episodes, making it part of the service’s lineup of original series.

The play is adapted from award-winning author Sandra Barneda’s bestseller of the same name, which has sold millions of copies.

Golden Globe-nominated Eva Longoria will star in Gala and also serve as executive producer of the program, which will be overseen by her production company, UnbeliEVAble Entertainment.

Award winners Iris Ramón Campos and Gema R. Neira were responsible for both creating the program and writing it. The role of Gala’s mother, Julia, was recently played by Carmen Maura, a renewed actress who has worked in both film and television. Currently, Spain serves as the location for pre-serial production work to be carried out.
