Colleagues, friends and others in Hollywood are paying tribute to Anne Heche, who was declared brain dead this week but remains on life support following her horrific car accident in Los Angeles. As reports surfaced that Heche would not survive and be taken off life support, messages of love and appreciation for the Emmy-winning actor began pouring in.
“It’s a sad day,” tweeted Heche’s former love partner Ellen DeGeneres, while the ex-husband and Men in the trees Co-star James Tupper posted a simple “Love you forever” on Instagram.

Honestly to God, I think maybe the best acting performance I’ve ever seen in my life was Anne Heche in PROOF on Broadway. #TO TEAR APART

Anne Heche was a terrific and fierce actress. Funny and smart. Bad news.

A few years ago, I was Anne Heche’s eccentric suitor in PROOF on Broadway. She was as crazy and absolutely fabulous as I could have ever dreamed of. A huge talent that I loved playing opposite and above all a really decent human and friend. The news is just infinitely sad. pic.twitter.com/oWwn7lj95t
